I took a few days off this week to take care of a some "female" issues; that procedure went extremely well. However, on my way home from that doctor, one of my wisdom teeth cracked. Granted, I was supposed to have them all removed in a couple of months, after consulting with the dentist he felt it was best that I get them all removed immediately. So much for taking a couple days off to rest.

So Thursday morning, Amanda and I drove back down to Boston and I had all four wisdom teeth removed. Three of them were out within seconds... the fourth, was impacted and therefore he had to do some slicing and dicing. Of course, I didn't feel much. I was under the pleasantries of valium and a steady stream of nitrous oxide. The doc asked me if I would be watching any TV while I was home, he mentioned some random shows and I blurted... of course, not, I will be watching, Queer as Folk. He laughed and chuckled, and told the nurse that I must be a "party girl". And that comment led me into an even more pleasant nitrous journey.

As the light fog began to lift, I could instantly feel why they gave me so much novacaine. OUCH. And I'm still in pain. I'm not sure who thought vicodin actually supresseses pain, but apparently I'm immune to it. Oh, and just so you know, I got to take all four teeth home (just don't tell O.S.H.A). They are HUGE!!!

I'm now only swelling on the right side, but it comes and goes. I'm finally on to some slightly solid food - mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, etc. I'm hoping that I will at least be able to eat some of the Easter dinner I will be preparing tomorrow for Amanda and my father. Or perhaps I will have to resort to the carrot & ginger soup Amanda bought me.

The fire is roaring, and I have a snoring Cavalier to my left, twitching English Pointer on my right, and a Vizsla at my feet. The snow is falling and my beautiful girl is reading in the window seat I built. Doesn't get much better than this.

Jolie Lisette
Our girl arrived yesterday at Logan Airport at 6:01PM. She was scared and timid, but by the time we got back to Plymouth, she was sitting in my lap. Little Jolie is such a cuddlebug!

She's still trying to figure out the dog door, but she ate every last bit of breakfast and is holding up well against the boys. When she's had enough rough-housing, she let's 'em know!

She slept curled up in my arms for most of the night and then moved over to snuggle with Amanda, while the jealous Toemas inched his way up the bed. They are all getting along fabulously though.

Check out the latest pics!!

I have very few addictions in life (okay, so as I'm counting... there may be more than a few). We'll leave the entire list for another day, but I have a couple of TV addictions right now: The L Word, The Apprentice, Law & Order (every edition), Lost, Six Feet Under, Queer as Folk, and now Huff.

I saw the first episode of Huff a few months ago and since I worked from home this today, I had the luxury of Showtime OnDemand (since Adelphia in NH fails to provide that option), so I watched the first seven episodes of Huff. I'm completely sucked in now. If you are not familiar with the show, I encourage you to check it out.

The jist of the show revolves around Craig "Huff", a psychiatrist (portrayed by Hank Azaria) who's 15-year old gay patient commits suicide in his office in the first episode. Along with his other, clearly disturbed clients, the show has enough plot lines to keep it going. Then you add in an impressive cast, the show sucks you in!

Blythe Danner shines as his neurotic, overbearing, meddling mother, and Oliver Platt is superb as his self-destructing high-profile lawyer best friend who is addicted to nearly everything illegal - sex, drugs and hookers (he even goes for the dwarf hookers). Huff's wife and son Bird also have great moments, but when Bird starts giving Huff advice, you just have to wonder who's the adult.

Anyhow, I could continue on with a lame review... but if you have Showtime onDemand, watch the first couple of episodes and I think you'll agree that this show has some great potential.

It's a GIRL!!!

Her name is LuLu and she's a purebred Lemon and White Field English Pointer who likes to play with Vizslas! We are working on the details of getting her here (she's in Illinois), but she'll be joining us hopefully before the weekend. Henri & Toemas will just love her!!!
