Tales from the South End
okay, well really this is just a spot for me to ramble on about random topics

Almost forgot -- given all the drama that has ensued the past week, I decided to book my birthday flight to sunny Ft. Lauderdale (cheap flights by the way on Orbitz). Needed something to look forward to. I'm renting a car and then heading to the Keys and will be spending 5 days on the beach and hopefully two trips a day to a max depth of 120 ft along the coral reefs. Nothing but the sounds of my regulator and the gentle current to fill my mind. Hopefully I'll find some peace of mind while I'm there.
Finally received the new CD's I ordered online (since Virgin Megastore said they didn't exist):
ATB - The DJ in the Mix (UK Import)
Lighthouse Family - Relaxed & Remixed
DJ Wayne G - Anthem (Australian Import)
Let's just say, I have the chills. Truly amazing mixes by ATB and just now listening to Anthem. The 2004 remix of my girl Sandy B's "Make the World go Round" is sensational (can't wait to hear it in the privacy of my car). I have the bass cranked and the treble finely tuned and I'm having my own little private party in my cube right now -- Thank god, no one is in the office just yet. I don't want the music to stop (my own little solice).
Oh and I have a 15 minute massage at 10:00AM. The office is bringin in a masseuse for everyone working on our project. I volunteered to go first -- I'm hoping it's a cute girl named Helga.

SIGH

Worked nearly 12 hours yesterday. I did not not even get an ounce of shopping in. I'm cranky today. Why? Well, I got a $250 speeding ticket on my way home (77MPH in a 45MPH zone). Does anyone have a connection at the Brighton Court House? It's bad enough that I am a step 23 (down from 25) and my insurance is $3,800 a year. And no, that is not a typo. And woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep and by the time I did fall asleep, it was playtime for the kitties. Egad.
In the office again now and thankfully I have a fabulous raspberry and white chocolate muffin and hot chocolate. Perhaps I'll finally get some shopping in today.

Open mouth, insert foot - then proceed quickly to the nearest rock to crawl under and hope to god no one ever finds you - EVER.
I think I'm finally growing up. On my way home from losing all of my money at ladies' night poker (oh around 10:00pm), my friend Greg calls. Now god love him, he's all of about 24 (looks 18) and has the energy of a cheetah. He and a couple of friends had decided to go "clubbing" in Boston for the evening and of course wanted me to join them (and be a tour guide). Now, I was all gung ho at first, until I finally get home, sit down and am practically falling asleep while trying to give him directions to Machine. Even after trying to motivate myself, I did the grown-up thing and gracefully took a raincheck for the evening. Good lord, I hope they at least went into the right door and he didn't fall into the clutches of some big butch leather harnessed daddy at Ramrod.
I am now heading into the office for another rousing day of template hell. And yes I know it's Saturday. Too bad I don't get paid overtime.
Although, as a treat, I just may have to go shopping later.

What's the point of working from home when you have to rush into the office because you can't deliver files? I'm just plain cranky now. Although, despite not having the time to take a shower, my hair still looks good (thanks to Redken). Oh and my neck still hurts... drugs are on the way.
Been up for some time now. Buying new ringtones for my cell phone. Although it has been hard to type as Sommersby has been lying on my chest being the little love pig that he is. And Kennedy has been unusually cuddly this morning.

My horoscope for the day:
Romance happens if you let it. Actually, that would give you too much power over the situation. The real question is this: Who are you to stop romance from happening? Thanks to your intense energy, you're attracting all kinds of excitement to your doorstep. You'd be a fool to hide in the house now. Step outside and show everybody how it's done. Couples or singles can play this game. No experience is necessary. All you have to do is go with the feeling. And even if you're not directly involved with romance, its cosmic force still affects your life.
Makes me want to cancel dinner with my brother tonight. LOL.

5 Things to be happy about today:
1) poems of undying love
2) The Wizard of Id comic strips
3) light appetizers
4) something worth waiting for
5) an inexpensive cabernet sauvignon
Can I just throw up now?

Dinner at Pho Hoa Friday night was excellent. Although, be careful not to order an Amstel Light, as that is really code for a Sam Adams. After dinner, half of the party proceeded to Dottie's house and played pool on her brand spanking new table. There is just something very erotic about freshly laid felt and the crisp sound of those gleaming balls.
Saturday afternoon I spent a couple of hours on the second floor of Virgin Megastore on Newbury St (I'm sure you can guess what section I was in). I know what you must be thinking? How much music does this girl have? Well, it's obscene really. Do you think I have a problem? My favorite purchase was "m people" as I've misplaced my old copy of it. And just so we know, I'll be posting my entire database of music (when I get a spare moment) and will be glad to take orders (for a nominal fee of course).
After finally making my way to the checkout, I met up with my friend Melissa and we had dinner at Club Cafe. Had never actually eaten a meal there. Crab cakes & shrimp cocktail for appetizers. Both were excellent. Then had the sirloin which was drizzled with a jalepeno cheese sauce accompanied by a baked potato & asparagus. The sirloin was slightly overcooked, but not enough to send it back. One caveat; service is excellent, but the kitchen takes forever. We were there for over 2 hours which made me a little cranky.
Although, fashionably late (due to the never-ending dinner coupled with the lousy weather), we finally made it out to Worcester for a house party with some of the gang ending up at Rage. DJ Dena worked her magic and spun a lovely set to cap off the night. God she has sexy hands!
And yes, I have FINALLY posted more pictures:
1. Orlando Vacation
2. Dharia's House Party (last night)

Still taking the drugs for my neck & shoulder. I have been generally feeling okay, but by the end of the day, I'm just all tensed up.
I love the Dining In service. We ordered from Steve's Greek House tonight. The tsatsiki has a bit too much dill and not enough garlic; however, the slouvaki & chicken kabob sandwiches were excellent. And as far as the greek salad goes -- that's for lunch tomorrow!
Working from home tomorrow and looking forward to dinner at Pho Hoa.

Hurt my neck, shoulder, and then back this weekend. Not exactly sure what I did (okay - moving rugs probably didnt' help), but I have no strength in my left arm and my fingers are now starting to turn purple due to lack of circulation. Fortunately, I have a doctor appointment at 2PM today as the Aleve and cold packs just ain't cutting it.

So I've finally posted the new site. Voila! What do you think? I'm still working on some sections, but it's mostly there!

So, I was sitting at my desk yesterday ripping the new Melissa Etheridge CD (fabulous by the way) to my hard drive... I then went to the bathroom and when I came back, Melissa was no longer playing on the speakers; rather I heard a very distinct "slurping" sound.
Naturally, I click over into my RealOne Player, my screen flickers and the next thing I know, there is gay porn playing at FULL SCREEN. Mind you, that when I tried pressing ESC or Ctrl + Alt + Del, nothing happened. After sitting here for a few seconds hoping to god that no one walks by, I had to do a cold reboot. Ouch. Now that's some Melissa Etheridge CD!

Apparently, I'm going to start getting hate mail for not posting new pics, so here's the scoop. Before uploading them, I decided to redesign my entire site to be more dynamic, etc. However, the design needs a little help, so I've been hesitant. Additionally, I need to increase the amount of space that my ISP has granted me. It seems that I have too many damn pics!
okay, enough apologies. I will get everything posted this week. I PROMISE.

Sorry for the lag in blog entries. It truly was a crazy week. Friday just couldn't come fast enough. Enough with the apologies and on with the excitement:
Thursday night: dinner at Legal Seafood - coconut shrimp appetizer and baked stuffed shrimp entree accompanied by a lovely glass of Jordan Chardonnay. There is just something special about freshly shaved coconut lightly battered over jumbo shrimp and then dipped in an orange marmalade sauce. mmmmmmm.
Friday night: dinner at B & G Oysters in the South End. After many rave reviews, we finally had our chance and 22 oysters, a lobster roll, a clam plate, and bottle of Altresse later, I think we can safely say that B & G has a special place in my book. It was a fabulous evening to say the least.
Saturday: Went to Ogunquit with another couple and stayed at the Beauport Inn, a charming B & B just off the main strip. Truly, a hidden treasure. George & Kathy took good care of us all. Let's just say there is a steam room adorned by imported Saudi Arabian doors. Fantastic!
This has been, one of the most enjoyable & relaxing weekends I've had in a long time.

I have this sudden urge to sing the Thong Song. I know I'm teetering on the edge of TMI (too much information) for this blog, however, I'm wearing my first thong today. And frankly, I'm not afraid to admit that I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Enough said.
